Drone Light Shows in Turkey

Drone light shows have become one of the most talked about ways to mark a big moment in Turkey, whether it is a national holiday, a brand launch, a municipality celebration, or a televised finale. SKD Drone has been part of that story since the very beginning. Founded in 2017, we were one of the first companies in the world to start producing drone light shows, and we happened to be born in Turkey.
Since then we have flown shows across the country for municipalities, government ministries, the Turkish Presidency, national broadcasters, and major brands. Here is a look back at some of the shows that shaped where we are today, and what a drone light show in Turkey can actually look like.
Where It Started: Our First Show in Turkey
Every company has a first show, and ours was small by today's standards: 50 drones. It was one of the earliest drone shows ever flown in Turkey, and at the time, most people watching had never seen anything like it. That show taught us the fundamentals we still rely on today: precision choreography, safety, and design that actually connects with the audience watching from the ground.
Growing With Brands: Sabanci, 500 Drones
As demand grew, so did our shows. For Sabanci, we produced a 500 drone light show, using the added scale to build more detailed formations and longer sequences. Corporate drone shows like this one are usually built around a brand's identity: logos, brand colors, and custom shapes that tell a story about the company in a way fireworks simply cannot.

Municipalities and National Days
Some of our most meaningful work has been for local governments celebrating national days.
For Manisa Belediyesi, we flew a 300 drone show for May 30, forming shapes tied to the significance of the day for the local community.

For Aliaga Belediyesi, our October 29 Republic Day show featured a portrait of Ataturk formed entirely by drones, along with other formations chosen for their meaning to the city and the day being celebrated. Portrait formations like this are technically demanding, since every drone has to hold its exact position to render a recognizable face in the night sky, but the emotional impact on the crowd makes it worth the extra precision.

National Government Events
We have also had the honor of producing a show for the Turkish Presidency (Cumhurbaşkanlığı), where the formations included the Turkish flag and a design representing "Turkiye Yuzyili" (Turkey's Century), among other formations tied to the event's message.
For 30 Agustos Zafer Bayrami (Victory Day), we produced a show on behalf of T.C. Kultur ve Turizm Bakanligi, using the drones to mark one of the most significant dates on the Turkish calendar with formations built around victory, unity, and national pride.
Entertainment and Television
Drone shows are not just for national holidays and corporate events. We produced a 700 drone show for Survivor, one of the biggest entertainment productions in Turkey, bringing the same scale and precision used in our national events to a television audience.

We also produced a show for Kubra, a Netflix production, which went viral at the time. It was a good reminder that a well designed drone show does not just entertain the live crowd, it can travel far beyond the event itself once it is shared online.

What Kind of Formations Can Be Made?
One of the most common questions we get is simply: what can drones actually form in the sky? The honest answer is that it depends on the story you want to tell, but here are some of the most requested formations for events in Turkey:
Map of Turkey: a strong choice for anything tied to national identity or tourism
Turkish flag: used across national holidays, government events, and patriotic celebrations
Custom text and messages: brand names, event titles, or a message written across the sky
Portraits: from historical figures like Ataturk to modern icons, depending on the occasion
Logos and brand shapes: for corporate launches and sponsor activations
Abstract and thematic designs: built around the specific theme of the event, from festivals to weddings
Every formation is designed around the theme of the event first, then translated into a flight path that hundreds of drones can execute in perfect sync.
Why Choose SKD Drone for Drone Light Shows in Turkey or Worldwide
SKD Drone was born in Turkey in 2017, making us one of the first companies in the world to start producing drone light shows, not just in the region. Since then, we have grown from that first 50 drone show to producing shows with hundreds of drones for municipalities, government institutions, national broadcasters, and global brands.
Today we operate in over 20 countries, with hundreds of shows behind us, all designed and flown by our own in-house team. We do not outsource design or operations to third parties, which means faster turnaround, more creative control, and a level of consistency that comes from doing this work ourselves, show after show.
Whether it is a national holiday, a municipality celebration, a corporate launch, or a televised event, we design every show around the story our client wants to tell.
